Privacy policy

This policy explains what information RentNest Lahore collects and how it is used.

Information we collect

  • Account details: name, email, optional phone number and a securely hashed password.
  • Listings: property details, photos and the contact numbers you choose to show to renters.
  • Enquiries: the name, phone, optional email and message you send to a landlord or agent.
  • Usage: which pages and listings are viewed, searches, and taps on the call, WhatsApp, favorite and share buttons. See "Analytics and cookies" below.
  • Where you came from: the website that sent you here, or the campaign tags (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign) in the link. If you send an enquiry, the source of your visit is saved with it so we know which channels bring renters.

Analytics and cookies

We measure how the site is used in two ways.

  • Google Analytics 4 (when enabled) counts visits and events. We do not send names, phone numbers or emails to it. Google's own privacy policy applies to the data it collects.
  • Our own analytics. Our server records an event for each page view, listing view, search and button tap. Each event stores: the page path (without the part after a question mark), the type of event, the time, your device type (phone, tablet or computer), the listing involved, the website or campaign that referred you, and two random identifiers. We never store your name, phone number, email address, IP address or the text you typed.
  • The random identifiers are saved in your browser's local storage, not in cookies. One identifies the browser and the other identifies one visit, which ends after 30 minutes without activity. They are not linked to your account.
  • Do Not Track: if your browser sends the Do Not Track signal, our own analytics record nothing from your browser.
  • Team members: visits made while signed in as RentNest staff are not counted.
  • How long: analytics events are deleted automatically after 400 days. Enquiries are kept until you ask us to remove them.
  • Calls and WhatsApp: we count that the button was tapped. We do not record calls or messages, and a tap does not tell us whether a call or message happened.

How we use it

  • To run the marketplace: show listings, deliver enquiries to the right landlord or agent, and let you save rentals.
  • To keep the platform safe: moderation, spam prevention and investigating reports.
  • To send essential emails such as password resets.

Sharing

Enquiry details are shared only with the landlord or agent of the listing you contact, and with the RentNest team members who handle enquiries. Team members see only the enquiries and details their role needs, and staff accounts use two-factor sign-in. We do not sell personal information.

Location privacy

Listing maps show an approximate area only; exact addresses are not published.

Your choices

You can edit your profile and listings at any time, and delete your listings. To delete your account, contact rentnestlahore@gmail.com.
